What is the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards?

For the past few years WaterMaarq has entered the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards, which is essentially the Logies or Academy Awards for the tourism industry. It involves preparing a 12,500 word submission that reports on areas such as business planning, marketing, customer service, contribution to community and sustainability, and exhibition of tourism excellence. 

In a lot of ways it is a gruelling exercise, demanding weeks of concentrated effort to produce the submission that is assessed by up to four judges who hail from the tourism industry. Essentially it’s a peer assessment from the industry’s finest colleagues. Usually for us it means increasingly later nights every day up to the deadline and it’s not uncommon to be hunched over the keyboard until 1am, 2am, 4am and 5am in the final week as you try and find all the hours in the day you possibly can to create the masterpiece you wish to submit.

Fortunately for us in our first year entering the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards in 2017 we successfully earned a Bronze award. Subsequently in 2018 a Silver award, and who knows in 2019?
