Accepting the Gold Winner Tourism Award
Commencing operations in 2014, WaterMaarq previously received the Bronze award in 2017, Silver in 2018 and in this year’s Adventure Tourism category after rigorous quality assessment and judging before a panel of industry experts has taken out the top award.
Owner Marlon Quinn said at the awards, “It’s with much gratitude and excitement that we accept this award. Our team of guides provide life-changing marine wildlife experiences for our guests and it’s their enthusiasm, dedication and passion that keeps us thriving. We are fortunate to share with our guests the beauty and underwater marine secrets of the temperate waters, the cooler waters known as the Great Southern Reef, home to marine life including Weedy Seadragons, Smooth Stingrays, Australian Fur Seals and Bottlenose Dolphins, species some of which exist nowhere else on Earth.
We wouldn’t be where we are in just five short years without the support of long-running highly successful awarded local businesses Moonraker Charters and Polperro Dolphin Swims, with particular mention to Moonraker’s Managing Director, Torie Mackinnon for her mentorship and guidance in establishing our tourism presence.
The Mornington Peninsula really is a centre of excellence in regional tourism and we’re delighted to be in company with businesses of such high calibre and to contribute to the sustainability of our region through our eco boat tours.”
By winning this award WaterMaarq is nominated for the Adventure category at the national Qantas Australian Tourism Awards which will be held in March 2020 in Canberra.
Award winning WaterMaarq charters operate from the lovely seaside town of Sorrento on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Providing boutique up close eco boat tour dolphin watching and seal swim wildlife experiences, and reef snorkelling adventures, you’ll discover the beauty of the environment above and below the water. WaterMaarq’s personalised approach gives you the confidence to enjoy life-changing marine wildlife experiences. WaterMaarq is based just 90 minutes from Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia.
